Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Eyeshadow Palette #Pillow Talk

by - 9/16/2021 12:02:00 AM

I bought this palette after watching Nevertheless K-drama.
It's because Han So Hee, the female lead, is so charming and pretty.
She put on this eyeshadow in one of the scene.
Truthfully, she also put the matte lipstick in same shade,
but I don't use matte lipstick so it's a no for me.
Let's see if the eyeshadow will be a kind of my favorite or not
considering the expensive price.
But I must say it is less expensive than Dior 5 Couleurs Couture I bought recently.

What is it:

Charlotte’s award-winning luxury palettes!
You can instantly enhance your natural eye color and make your eyes sparkle

Han So Hee is very pretty!
Sometimes, when the camera angle from her side, she looks similar to Song Hye Kyo.

After reading the full description of this palette, let's see the actual product.

The palette box is dark brown, reminds me of a chocolate box.
How the golden logo and texts design on top of brown
is very similar to a box of chocolates in my past childhood memory.
I don't buy that kind of chocolate anymore though.

I love the texts on the side note below, kind of magic

Life cycle for this eyeshadow is very long!
It can be up to 30 months after opening, but since it is powdery type, not a surprise.
On the back of its case, there is instruction about each eyeshadow.
The first is to be used as primer, 2nd is to enhance (main) color,
3rd is to make smokey eye look, and 4th is a pop color, can be used on the middle eyelid.

Gorgeous pink and brown combination.

About the color, I agree with the review on the official website.
They are rose & taupe, a mix of cool and warm tone inside one palette.
This will be easier to be used for any skintone
because each pan complements any skin color.
No.1 prime color is a warm pink-beige shimmery color.
No.2 enhance is a cool rosy matte.
No.3 smoke is a warm taupe matte.
And last, no.4 pop color is a glittery warm golden rose color.
When combined, the result is warm pink with a hint of brown, similar to coral,
especially if I use no.4 color as topper.

Texture wise, I also agree with this review:

Yes, the texture is dry and not only for the topper but all powders in the palette.
It still glides easily using fingers, but I feel the powder is too dry.
I can almost relate with Daiso Ellefar Glitter Eyeshadow,
I don't consider dry texture is good for blending,
but they tend to stay strong on eyelid.

I used all colors in this picture.
Using the pop color on top of middle eyelid so it looks orangey.
The pop color is originally warm and full of golden glitters
so it makes the gradation warmer.

Thankfully, even if the powder texture is dry,
they glides smoothly compared to Laneige and Daiso.
Maybe more similar to Clio?
I now know why Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadow is popular in Korea.
The texture is similar to Korean eyeshadow, dry and matte.
The glittery powder is also dry.
Meanwhile, Japanese eyeshadow texture is smooth and airy,
I like them better because I don't feel like wearing makeup.
The powder is not heavy or sticky at all.
Most Korean glitters are heavy on eyelid because of big pieces.
But Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette is better, the glitter is small and thin.

Here, I don't use the pop glitter color and it creates a gradation in pink tone.

For three colors without glitter, there will be no fallout.
But the pop color is not that bad too.
The glitters don't fall easily.
Though I still like to use matte color for daily use.
Overall, the powder is quite strong on dry skin like me.

In this picture, I used all colors.
And using pop color on lower eyelid.
I still prefer using primer color for lower lid though,
because it is more natural than glitters.

Either putting it sheer nor bold, the result is a natural gradation color.

The palette is not bad and I think it is good.
But it is not on my repurchase list.
Korean eyeshadow can produce similar color and texture with cheaper price.
Just buy Clio Pro Eye Palette or Colorgram Tok Multi Cube Palette.
It is not worthy to spend more just to buy CT brand.
But I still feel alright to buy once to try.
Moreover, it doesn't include brush with expensive price.
But if I have another chance, which is very rare since I must buy through PO,
I will consider purchasing The Bella Sofia.
Don't know why, but it have pretty name.

MY THOUGHTS OF CHARLOTTE TILBURY LUXURY EYESHADOW PALETTE #PILLOW TALK:
+ A palette with shimmer, glitter, and matte texture.
+ Creates pretty gradation suitable for any skintone.
+ Staying power is quite good and minimum fallout.
+ Doesn't emphasize dry skin.
+ Glides easily despite the dry texture.
+ Smooth but soft powder, that will do better with finger. Brush is not needed actually except for blending.
+ Pillow Talk is considered a daily palette with easy to mix color.
+ Not very pigmented so it's good for daily use. But not for people who like bold color. Pillow Talk is sheer.
- Expensive without brush.
- Dry texture that can be found in most Korean eyeshadow. Recently, Espoir made similar palette, Lookbook Palette in #Pillow Peach. Cheaper than Charlotte Tilbury.
- Color gradation is too warm for my skintone if using the pop color.
