Dior 5 Couleurs Couture #669 Soft Cashmere ディオール サンク クルール クチュール #669 ソフト カシミア

by - 6/09/2021 12:17:00 AM

Since last year, Dior 5 Couleurs Couture eyeshadow palette,
or in Japan, it is called Sanctuary Couture, is very popular.
For summer 2021, this palette launched two new colors, Summer Dune.
But I could not find it online in my country.
Remember that I'm a person who like to purchase cosmetic online
rather than being asked by BA in the shop.
So in the end, I bought Soft Cashmere palette after so many times choosing
between Soft Cashmere, Mitzah, Nude Dress, and Rouge Trafalgar.
Please give applause to Soft Cashmere after becoming mine!

The iconic 5 Couleurs eyeshadow palette has been reinvented as 5 Couleurs Couture.
Each eyeshadow palette – Denim, Black Bow, Rouge Trafalgar and Mitzah –
corresponds to an iconic piece of the Dior wardrobe, offering a nuanced array
of intense shades that are easy to use and combine.
Depending on the palette, the eyeshadow can be have a matte, satin,
shimmery, metallic or glitter finish.
The eyes are enhanced with luminous makeup in gorgeous colors.

Color variations (availability varied between countries and shops) :

I picked Soft Cashmere, the choice above.

689 Mitzah : Leopard shades of brown and gold*
879 Rouge Trafalgar : Shades of pink, a brown and a catwalk red*

For summer 2021, the palette launched two new colors:

Sadly, I could not find it online in my country's Sephora.
I was interested in Dune rather than Mirage.
They are popular in Japan.

Referred to this site, Soft Cashmere is for blue-based skintone.
The pigment is low to medium with medium to high brightness.
A palette of greige color with elegant tone and natural finish.
It is perfect for someone who wants to use other color than brown,
needs transparent and sensual finish on eyes.
This is a greige color that even beginners can use!
According to that site, Soft Cashmere is no.3 popular palette in Japan.

Dior's box is full of black color!
It does not have any picture, ornament, etc.
But seems very luxurious.

Even the case is darker than black...
It can reflect light like a mirror.
This is not the first time I bought a black case palette.
So receiving Dior's case is normal to me.
It's just that, the feelings is different thanks to the price.
I mostly bought cosmetic for half of this price.

There is a large mirror, which is a good think.
I like my palette to have brush and mirror.
And the pan is very clean.
Apart from the mirror, there are two dual-edge brushes.
I wonder if they are suitable to brush with this powdery eyeshadow?

This is the pan after swatching.
A little bit trace of my fingers...

The colors for this palette is full of greyish brown.
As expected, it will be suitable for people with blue-based skintone.
But actually, I'm confused of my own skintone.
Though in final result, I purchased Soft Cashmere due to popular demand.
Sephora Indonesia always sold out this color, compared to the other.

I noticed color E in the middle is similar for Soft Cashmere, Tribal, Tutu palette.
But there is some difference in either warm or cool tone.

Let's see the texture and color of this palette.
The A palette is a glitter grey color in tiny particle.
B is beige glitters and can create fallout easily because of big type of glitter.
Better to be careful with color B.
C is a greyish brown, less shimmery than A.
D is a cool brown, matte, but can still be swiped easily.
And E is a soft cool brown with small shimmer.
I wonder why it is called pink in the shade description above.
I don't think there is pink color, except maybe for the nude tone.

All powders are very soft, lightweight, and easy to brush.
I think that's why this palette is very popular in Japan.
Because the texture is glittery, sheer to medium finish,
and have different kind of textures and colors.
I don't know about the other color palette,
but Soft Cashmere is a good palette for me and worth the price.

This is the result after blending.
Actually, I used color C on 1/3 upper lid and blending it.
It was supposed to be bold.
But this Soft Cashmere palette is sheer to medium finish.
So no matter how many times I put dark color,
it won't be too much for daily look.
I'm a person who like MLBB, so this is good.

I will talk about the brush.
The dual edge sponge brush is soft and a bit rubbery-like.
But they can take the powder well.
Meanwhile, I feel confuse of the brush type.
While I thought the straight blending brush will take glitter color B well,
it can't put too much on my skin, a bit hard to brush.
But it's still give me natural finish highlight for lower eyelid.
Well, I supposed to use it for blending but it's a bit stiff.

Using angled brush to pick color D.
The line is too big, but surprisingly good when I open my eyes.

The strangest thing is the angled brush.
When I thought it could create eyeline well with color D,
it made a weird cat eyeline for me.
As you can see in the picture of my eyes above,
there is a brown line in winged structure.
Only 1-2 swipes with the weird brush, and it can create winged eyeshadow line!
Very convenient huh.

But too bad, my hand was shaking for the first time using it,
So the line was off balance between right and left.
Though I recommend using a lining brush for better finish!
It's just that for me, the brush is fun to use...
But I do think it will be better to use different brush,
because it is hard to create perfect gradation with them.
Especially for people who like to blend eyeshadow perfectly,
Dior's brush is not a good thing since they are a bit stiff.
But if I don't have enough time, I will use the angled brush just to create eyeline.

On the left picture, I used the angled brush to create winged liner from color D.
This time, I used all parts of the big and large brush,
so the eyeline was big and noticeable.
I tried using the half part of the brush later in the picture below.
Sorry that I could not smile perfectly on the right picture.
It was taken a few days after I undergo tonsillectomy.
More story is in this post.

What do you think?
Is Soft Cashmere suitable for me?
I thought it won't suit me, since it is for blue based skintone.
And I might be in the middle of blue and yellow based.
Thankfully, I feel this grey-ish color is acceptable,
even complimenting my daily look.

Swapped pictures on July 14th, 2021 below:

As for me, Dior 5 Couleurs Couture in Soft Cashmere is a very good eyeshadow.
Although it doesn't do well with the brush included.
But the soft and natural finish is my favorite.
Color B is a bit hard to use, because it can create fallout easily.
I think it will be better to use finger or tapping brush instead of swiping.
But the other colors are good and without fallout.
My favorite color here is C because it can be used as a main or lining color,
for different occasion.

I blended color C on 1/3 of upper lid.
Then put color A on middle lid to create highlight.
But blending colors will make this palette too sheer.
I think it's better to just create eyeliner with color D.

And I am a bit confuse about color E.
While I thought it can be used for lining, it is not.
Color E is too sheer.
So I used it for my under eyes, to create life and color for it.
I'm interested in purchasing other color when I have more budget.
But I think not in the near future.
Because I will choose another nude color that can be used everyday.
Maybe if there is a limited edition that pick my interest?
Oh, I just realize the pan in Dior Soft Cashmere is similar to
Wow, it is an old range from Kanebo KATE.
But Dior is more cool / bronze than KATE in overall result.

Previously, I used the greyish color A / C as main color.
This time, I put E as the base to make it warmer.
And it really helps creating another base color in warmer brown.
I used angled brush, but only half part of it so the eyeline was small and natural.

Can be used for daily or cool makeup.
This picture were taken two weeks after tonsillectomy.
I could smile again!
I put the grey fluff earrings without consideration of the grey-ish eyeshadow.
But they suit the monotone theme perfectly.

MY THOUGHTS OF DIOR 5 COULEURS COUTURE #669 SOFT CASHMERE:
+ Natural color result can be used for daily.
+ Does not create fallout except for the glitter.
+ Comes with mirror and brush.
+ Soft powder and easy to brush.
+ Does not emphasize dry skin, smooth texture.
+ Even though it is brown, it gives me a different result of cool eyelook.
+ Worth the price, I got 5 color variations in one palette, can be mixed with various ways.
+ The brush is soft and can pick the powder well. I especially think the different edge brush is unique and fun.
+ Long staying power without smudging too much on my dry skin.
- Not for people who like pigmented eyeshadow because it is sheer to medium finish.
- Price is too expensive!
- Brush is not suitable for blending.
