My Everyday Makeup Summer 2015

by - 9/02/2015 08:21:00 PM

In these past years, I never had what's so called "my everyday makeup". I usually changed my makeup everyday, based on my moods. When I wanted to use eyeshadow, I would use it. Or when I didn't want full face makeup, I would just use a powder or a primer such as Etude House Beauty Shot Face Blur and curled eyelashes without eyeliner. But when I tried to create IU makeup in The Producer drama as Cindy, I feel that it's became my favorite right away. I don't like using shimmery eyeshadow for work and it takes time. But in Cindy's makeup, I don't need to use too many products and the best is, I can use my bold lipstick without too much colors on my eyes.

After I bought Canmake Eyebrow Liquid in Natural Brown, I got excited to draw straight eyebrows in "everyday makeup" (I normally didn't draw my eyebrows before I found Canmake Eyebrow Liquid) and perfectly suits Cindy's makeup too. I've found what I need. I literally wrote the title as summer, but we don't have summer here. We just had 3 months for rainy season last year and then changed back to hot everyday with just 2 rainy days every 2 months, thanks to global warming.

For base, I usually use a non-dewy finish. Mostly for semi-matte, because the only dewy BB cream I have is Etude Bright Fit. the primer can be changed according to my will, but I like using Rohto Skin Aqua UV Moisture Milk for everyday usage thanks to its price. It doesn't ruin my makeup all day, also, including high SPF 50. It makes me want to try their other variation, gel type. For foundation, I can change it everyday either using a BB cushion or just tube BB cream (but must use it with sponge/puff except for KATE with fingers). I like using powder but with so many BB creams / cushions to use, I don't think I can leave them for a long time or they'll get expired. Anyway, I'll explain step-by-step below.

Here she is, IU in The Producer with red lips.

01. Base Makeup
- Clean your face thoroughly. Best to do it when taking a bath in the morning (you know that South East Asia people always takes bath twice a day to clean from dirt and go fresh to school/work because this place is fully hot, right?).

- Put on skincare routine, ex: lotion, toner, etc. But I skipped that since my face is alright.

- Put on primer/moisturizer on whole face. I usually do that with my Rohto Skin Aqua UV Moisture Milk. Why on whole face? Because my skin is very dry anywhere, from head to toe, from forehead to chin, from left cheek to right cheek. I need primer so the foundation will stick and stay well until night.

- Use BB cream/ light coverage foundation to create natural finish. Don't use high coverage one, it won't look natural at all. I like using KATE Mineral BB Gel Cream or Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in #Vanille Clair. Put on concealer if needed to hide blemishes / scars, but for me, I need to cover my dark circles. Well, concealer step is mostly avoided by me, since I don't like to add more work and because my concealer shade is too dark, when my powder / foundation wears off, it'll be yellow on some part where I put that. Put on powder if your skin is oily, but I usually skipped that part. If not, I'll use Canmake Marshmallow Finish Powder #MO or Tony Moly Cat's Wink Clear Pact #1 Clear Skin.

02. Cheek & Eyes
- I put powder-type blusher, from the outer to the apple of my cheeks. The powder blusher is usually very natural, so it won't be too much for bold lip color. I usually put either Tony Moly Crystal Blusher #Pink Jubilee or Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush #Rose d'or for soft & natural flush.

I don't like to use bold blusher. This is the most I can work with. It doesn't capturable on photo, but quite visible in real life. Same eye makeup, but I didn't do my eyebrows and my lipstick wasn't bold enough. Please don't mind the cut. I just wanted to emphasize my cheek and base makeup.

- The important thing is straight eyebrow. But a few weeks ago, I didn't do my brows because I hadn't found my holy grail item. And then I bought Canmake Eyebrow Liquid #Natural Brown. My real eyebrows are straight and narrow already. I just need to emphasize the outer side so it will look very straight and clean. Believe me, I've done that ever since I bought Etude House Drawing Eyebrow (and 2 for that), but I couldn't draw a good straight tail. I found out that it was due to the color. Korean eyebrow product tends to have red hue, while Canmake Eyebrow Liquid is in greyish brown. Because it has grey, it fits my natural (Asian) brows perfectly. And because I draw my brows straight, it'll be flat if I don't use shading. Use Canmake Shading Powder #Honey Rusk Brown or KATE Brown Shade Eyes shading powder to shape my nose. Swipe the brows that facing nose with shading powder to soften liquid eyebrow.

This picture already shows it all, from eyebrow, eyeliner, eyeshadow, and mascara. I used Canmake Eyebrow Liquid Natural Brown as my eyeliner too. The mascara is Canmake GOKUBUTO Mascara Black. But here, I used Canmake Eye Nuance #26 Caramel Biscuit darkest brown to fill in 1/3 my under eyes. Shading my nose with Canmake Shading Powder #03.

- Create down-side wing for the eyeliner. I mostly use either Canmake Eyebrow Liquid or black liquid eyeliner (Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Liner and Canmake Strong Eyes Liner). Of course it must be pen-type to create thin line for downside wing and a bit tightlining. Yeah, the wing must shape downside so you can fill in the 1/3 under eye with eyeshadow.

- For eyeshadow, some people like to shade their crease so it will look deeper. It depends on time, I usually don't shading it. I just fill 1/3 of my lower eye part with dark brown color. And prefer with less shimmer, which is KATE Brown Shade Eyes darkest color. It would give depth and puppy-eye look.

- Curled eyelashes with my Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler. I just need to give 2-3 pushes to curl my lashes with it, simple and quick. And then coating with mascara. I like to use Canmake GOKUBUTO Mascara #Black for natural finish on upper and lower lashes.

03. Lips
- It's a simple step. Use bold color lipstick, mostly red. But it's also good for burgundy color. Use Canmake Creamy Touch Rouge #03 Sweet Cherry in gradient finish (thin spread on outer lips and bold on the inside), Berrisom Oops My Lip Tint Pack #Sexy Red, or Innisfree Creamy Tint Lip Mousse #5 Sweet Vitamin Red that will create sexy look, but still very cute with those puppy-eye makeup.

Either with this color from Canmake Creamy Touch Rouge #03, or

this color is by Berrisom #Sexy Red but I put lipbalm on top, or

And this is using Innisfree Creamy Tint Lip Mousse #05. It can be very red, but I wanted it as minimal since I was working.

That's all for my everyday-yet-simple makeup. Be sure to try it. It will give sexy look, but still childish cute with puppy-eye look. The red lips will be the main show for it. For cheek, if you don't have natural color blusher, just choose it blank, because it's also good even without that. I need blusher to hide my chubby cheek and bland look (I used to hate blusher because I either wear it like a clown or not having any color at all). Well, if you like to submit your makeup look with a product of Canmake, try Canmake x Sociolla shimmering fall makeup competition. Do visit Canmake Indonesia's Instagram for more information. I want to, but I'm not used to makeup yet... I feel my skill isn't that good. This autumn, I think brown-colored eyeshadow is a trend. To match it, use brown/beige/nude lipstick too. I watched a few Japanese tutorials in Youtube and everyone used brown eyeshadow in their makeup.

Below are my pictures representing this makeup:

I intended to create IU's makeup more simple without eyeshadow on above picture. And this is the only picture without drawing my eyebrows. Oh yeah, even though the two above pictures are similar, it's taken in different day. The upper with drawing my eyebrows, and the lower one didn't.

This one is different. I used fuschia liptint from Etude House, Dear My Jelly Lips-Talk JPK001. Yeah, I still have that for 2 years already.

Yeah I know it's weird. This picture is from my 26th birthday last Saturday. But you can clearly see my straight eyebrows here. Forget that "fuuuuh" pose. PS: I should draw my eyebrows a bit of naginata shape facing my nose. IU did it. Well, I'll try later.
